Phil Ray

Phil grew up in the West Midlands and moved further north a few years ago to allow him to work at radio stations and make a home around here. He has been involved in radio since the age of 16 and absolutely loves it. As well as loving most parts of radio, Phil also loves the outdoors, looking at nature and a bit of gardening. As long as there's a bit of chocolate to eat at the end of the day, he's happy!
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Visiting local shops and eating their food if they serve it, gardening, walking around nature reserves.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Don't laugh... A weather presenter/meteorologist.
What's your favourite genre of music?
I have a very broad music taste and knowledge because I grew up with a lot of older songs. I LOVE a good party/dance song through, as you may have guessed if you've listened to my show.
Name three words that you describe you:
Tidy, positive, clumsy
What is the most frightening and challenging thing you have ever done?
I would say the most frightening and challenging thing would have been the Three Peaks challenge, having to climb all those mountains in a row! However, it was a great feeling at the end of it all.
What is the strangest habit you have?
Sometimes I like to spin on office chairs. I know, how old am I?
