'Help us choose which South Yorks bus services to save'

Withdrawal of government funding is putting many bus routes at risk

South Yorkshire's Mayor is asking Rotherham people to help shape how the region’s public money is used to protect bus routes.

Passengers in the region face the loss of a third of the bus network this autumn, when government funding provided to operators throughout the pandemic ends.
The mayor and the council haven't got enough money to fund all the routes that face the axe, so they're asking for help prioritising.
In March the government promised buses will be more frequent, cheaper, greener and easier to use as part of its levelling up agenda.
